We are pleased to announce the appointment of Guillermo Medina as the new Principal of Garfield High School.

Mr. Medina brings more than 20 years of experience in education, with a strong background as a high school teacher, associate principal, and college professor. He began his career as a social science teacher with the Sweetwater Union High School District, where he served from 2007 to 2019. Since then, he has held various leadership roles, including administrative intern and associate principal.

For the past two years, Mr. Medina has served the Garfield High School community as Associate Principal. During this time, he has built strong, positive relationships with students, families, and staff. His commitment to student achievement, family engagement, and inclusive leadership has already had a meaningful impact on our school.

Mr. Medina is excited to continue working with the Garfield community in his new role. He looks forward to partnering with all of you to build on the school’s strong foundation and ensure positive outcomes for all students.

Guillermo aporta más de 20 años de experiencia en el ámbito educativo, incluyendo una sólida trayectoria como maestro de escuela secundaria, subdirector y profesor universitario. Comenzó su carrera como maestro de ciencias sociales en el Distrito Escolar Sweetwater Union, donde trabajó desde 2007 hasta 2019. Desde entonces, ha desempeñado diversos roles de liderazgo, incluyendo pasantía administrativa y subdirección.

Durante los últimos dos años, Guillermo ha servido a la comunidad de la Escuela Secundaria Garfield como Subdirector, donde ha construido relaciones sólidas y positivas con estudiantes, familias y personal escolar. Su compromiso con el éxito estudiantil, la participación de padres y familias, y un liderazgo inclusivo ya ha tenido un impacto significativo en nuestra escuela.
